Heraclitus Argument: Change Is Consistent

Heraclitus is a well-known philosopher who argued that change is constant and that everything is constantly changing. This saying perfectly illustrates this because it shows how even things we think are constant are constantly changing. Heraclitus believed that everything changes constantly and that this is essential to the functioning universe. He said that it was impossible to walk in the same river twice as the river is changing all the time. Although the river may appear to be the same, it’s actually quite different. Water itself will be different at every moment, regardless of whether it is moving from the riverbed, rocks or branches. It might come from the exact same source. Although the water may be similar in taste, appearance and temperature, it is very different from the water we last touched.

The river is constantly running because it is not the same as before. People change every day because of new experiences that shape them. The same river cannot be walked twice. People meet new people every day that have a positive impact on their lives and make a difference in our lives. We read books and visit new places that transform us. How can we make the most of a world in flux? We live in an environment that is constantly changing and it is vital to have the ability to adapt. It is essential to embrace change in order to be successful. Our society has been constantly changing the world. Our lives seem to be like the river, but they are constantly changing. Similar statements can be made for other people, including individuals, nations, communities, and entire universes. Even though change happens slowly, we still experience it. They are a part of our individuality. We are constantly evolving and moving ahead. Although metaphorical, the river we have crossed remains in the past, even though we are moving forward.
