My Personal Story Of My Journey Towards Becoming A Clinical Pharmacist A T Usc

USC is innovative, unique, and prestigious. USC School of Pharmacy has a great reputation in the industry and a large alumni network. It is almost every pre-pharmacy candidate’s dream. USC offers me everything I’m looking for in a pharmacy program. USC appeals to my because it is dedicated to developing the next generation of leaders in pharmacy. It does this by integrating innovative research, high-quality teaching, and transformative services and practices. The curriculum’s core concepts, including research utilization and promotion of health, can be used in direct patient environments within a wide range of healthcare settings.

Two fields in which I’m interested and would like to expand my knowledge are nutrition and primary health care. USC’s immersion program will be a valuable opportunity for me to gain knowledge and work with pharmacy leaders. Dr. Cynthia Lem Lee Lieu teaches APPE rotations on Nutritional Support and other topics such as nutrition and health, infertility or osteoporosis. Dr. William C. Gong has been a leading researcher in the area of diabetes care, metabolic diseases and pharmacy services. He also works with residency training programs. I would consider it an honor to be able to take their courses and work alongside them throughout the program.

I want to become a Clinical Pharmacist so I can directly impact patient care and have the opportunity to work in various settings. It allows me to use leadership skills and work with other pharmacists, physicians, and medical professionals. By educating others about health, I am able to improve healthcare outcomes for patients and eliminate disparities in healthcare. The USC pharmacy program is a great opportunity for me to achieve my goals, gain more knowledge, and be shaped into a leading student of pharmacy.

You can change a person’s alter ego with makeup. I am a makeup artist who uses makeup brushes, similar to how Picasso created beautiful art using his paintbrushes. As Picasso was creative and found beauty artful, so am I. My creativity sets me apart from others, even if I have a solid academic background, a clinical background, or volunteer experience. My creativity allows me to succeed in leadership roles and group projects. I can adapt to any situation and make it better with my innovative, quirky and versatile personality. These are all traits that can be very useful for pharmacy schools, because they require the ability to think quickly and to work well within a team.

I went to University of California, Santa Cruz with a determination, but soon I found myself struggling for air. Being far from home, while also dealing with college level coursework, was a challenge. My grades dropped because I was overwhelmed. By the time I finished my first academic year, my grades improved. My efforts were rewarded and I received a cumulative GPA of 3.56. My dad was diagnosed as having Stage 4 Cirrhosis during my second year of the Pre-Professional Health Academic program at Cal State East Bay. He needed a liver donation. In order to ease my parent’s financial burden, I got a second job because he couldn’t work. As I worried about repaying the $70,000 Hepatitis c cure, I increased my work hours in order to earn more. Due to my lack of time, I was forced to drop one course. Every quarter, I’ve faced new challenges. But, with perseverance, adaptation, and utilizing my resources, I’ve become a stronger student.
