My Dream Job – A Pharmacist

Why I Want to Be a Pharmacist (Essay)

It’s important to remember that when we were children, our dreams included becoming astronauts and scientists. We even dreamed of being presidents. As we get older, our career choices become increasingly important, as they will affect how successful we are in life. Finding a job that is a perfect fit for us as people is not enough. No one wants a job where they don’t feel engaged or aren’t happy. It’s important to choose a career you love. I will explore my personality as a professional and the career path that I have chosen to help me better understand myself. You can gain confidence by researching and asking others who are pharmacists for their feedback.

The results of a personality assessment can be used to identify which fields are most suitable for any particular personality. My goal was to become a doctor, but after taking a personality test I found out that I didn’t want to have the responsibility of telling their patients bad news. I think I could give the impression that I have no empathy, and I also don’t believe my personality is suited to dealing with people’s feelings. Since I can see the point of view of others, it would be better for me to have a career with less variety. I wanted to help people and find out how to do it. That’s when the idea of practicing medicine (medical drug) came to me. I am currently studying biology. This is because I’m fascinated by how the human body works. Everything has a purpose and it’s fascinating how it all works together. My curiosity is what makes me an investigator. The math is something that I enjoy and excel at. This helps to reduce my stress. It would help me to feel more confident if I followed a set of rules. The article “Pharmacists: Investigative and Conventional” by Career Explorer discussed what qualities a person would need to fit in the world of pharmacy. They are curious, inquisitive individuals who enjoy spending time alone thinking. In addition, they are also conventional in that their work is usually organized and structured. The Career Assessment revealed that my new career options were Dermatologist, Ophthalmologist, and Psychiatrist. Dermatologist piqued my interest because I had skin imperfections. Also, I was curious to find out how skin works. I’m proud to become a dermatologist because it allows me to help other people with their own skin. I never thought of myself as a psychiatrist, because they treat mental illness. A doctor specializing on eye problems is not for me. I have a problem with one eye, and I would hate to go to an eye doctor. Incompatibilities are something that pharmacists diagnose, since the medications they take can have positive and negative effects. Patients are given advice on how to take their medication, including the number of doses. They also oversee the filling of prescriptions. My patients would tell me how they were using their prescriptions, as I am an expert on medication. Also, pharmacists can work in clinical training or programs. A pharmacist can also pursue careers as a nurse, medical scientist, or a doctor. A physician practices medicine as a kind of healer. As a nursing professional, you will be responsible for each patient. Medical scientists work to understand the human body. If we look at the pharmacist’s work, it can be either in a Walgreens-type drugstore or a medical facility. Their work involves a lot of standing. For my strengths, I can say that math and sciences are areas where I excel. I might need to do a little more studying, but overall, it feels good. When I do well on tests or quizzes, it relieves a lot of stress. Sion Phillippott writes in “Career Addict”, accuracy, integrity, science, math, interpersonal, communication and advocacy skills are all required for a pharmacist. Other skills include management, multitasking, prioritizing, and analytical thinking. If I were to ask about the educational requirements, I would say that I need a professional or doctoral degree. I also plan to join a pharmacy or other program at UTEP.

The median salary is $124,500 for a Pharmacist. From the lowest to highest pay, it would be 89 000 790 90 to 1 054 44 4 dollars. Marialice S. Bennett’s article “Perseverance leads to a stronger future” gave me a great inside look at what it is like to become a pharmacist. It was her article that helped me explore a career in pharmacy. She talked about her experience as a new pharmacist and how it led to her involvement in the field. A Medical Scientist is one of my related careers. I would suggest moving into a research program that’s on the rise. My plan is to fulfill this requirement first by completing an associate’s at El Paso Community College. Then I will transfer to UTEP, and join the pharmacy program. After graduation, I am going to apply for a Pharm.D. So I can save time, I’m going to research the programs I am interested in.

I was able to learn more about the education path that leads to becoming a pharmacist. In addition, I also described the career as a Pharmacist in more detail. I learned some interesting facts about Dermatologists. The idea of how I could advance as a Pharmacist sparked my interest. I thought that a true success would be to make a name for myself by helping people in a new way. This essay could be used as an introduction to my career as a pharmacist.
