Team Diversity As An Important Element In Teamwork

A team’s diversity refers to the uniqueness of each member. People are all different and have different rights. They think differently depending on their religious or cultural backgrounds, education level, and many other factors. Team performance can also be affected by personal differences. Because different people have different ways to think and handle things, this is why it can affect team performance. Different people react differently to different leadership styles. Only their individual constraints can allow them to complete their tasks without much disruption. There are people who can do tasks without supervision and others who need constant assistance to finish a task.

Leaders must take into consideration the strengths and weaknesses, as well their follower styles, in order to build a cohesive team. In order to make a team work well, you would need to consider mixing people with different capabilities (Woong and Hyun-Woo 2015). This means that members of the team must have the necessary skills and knowledge to accomplish the task. There might be times when certain team members may not have the knowledge they need. They should learn from others but also have their own strengths so they can contribute to the project. To avoid laziness or dependence on others, it is important to have self-motivated people who are task-oriented. The leader should consider team members who understand the importance and can work independently to complete their tasks. Nancarrow et al. (2013) argue that people with great communication skills are also needed to foster information sharing. This facilitates collaboration and helps improve performance. People are more inclined to work together in groups than they are individually. This is mostly due to the factors that bring them together. But a team is only possible to help with the completion of a project. This means that it requires the careful selection and evaluation of those whose expertise matches the project’s requirements. This is why I believe that the three core components are so important. It is vital to assess the suitability of each individual for the task. Diversity is an important part of the group’s uniqueness. I would add that the team identity defines the willingness of each member to be part of the group’s goal.

Designing tasks should be about team self management. It is essential to give your team more time and focus on difficult tasks. To make the team more effective, you need to change their mindset. Team diversity is essential to teamwork. It brings out the unique qualities of each group member and makes them more productive. Team leaders are responsible for supporting the team and helping them to acquire values. Team leaders are responsible for encouraging participation and team communication. It is essential that members of the group have good communication skills. Only then can information be properly shared so that the process does not get interrupted. This helps to build team identity as members can share their thoughts and feelings about their tasks.
